This is produced from hand-harvested, organic carobs, treated with mild methods of production to retain all of the beneficial elements of the fruit. It is rich in proteins, vitamins (A, D, and B-carotene), minerals (potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, manganese, copper, chromium, nickel). It is digestible, non-allergenic and gluten-free, and appropriate for vegetarian and vegan cooking.
It is suitable for all ages, especially for children and for women to protect against osteoporosis (it contains three times more calcium than milk).
It can be used as a sweetener for tahini, hot and cold beverages, yogurt, ice cream, cakes, salads, marinating and cooking meat. It is a perfect substitute for honey and sugar and an excellent flavour enhancer for food. The Carob Syrup is also known as a traditional remedy for coughs and sore throats.
It is available in a glass container of 250ml (330 gr).
